Gameday at Last...

JJ has been anxiously waiting to put Riggs on his sholders and carry him to Boone Pickens Stadium since we found out we were pregnant. He finally got to do that on Sept. 5, 09. We took Riggs to his first OSU football game. It was HOT and durning his nap time so he only made it one quarter then we had to leave but it was fun while it lasted.

Lately...

I'm so bad at keeping this up. I think I need to quit FaceBook and just do bloggin. Since I last blogged Riggs is walking and crawling. He started both about the same time, ten in a half months. Walking is not perfected yet but getting real close. He turns one in three weeks. I'm planning an OSU Cowboy birthday party.

Flowers from JJ...

Monday afternoon I was playing in the floor with Riggs when JJ came in and told me to hurry and get ready, that he had got a babysitter and was taking me out to dinner and a movie. He also picked out these flowers and arranged them in the vase for me.

Grantham Family Vacation

June 14th we headed to Santa Fe, NM for Grantham Family Vacation. It was a nine hour drive so we decided to leave Baby Riggs behind. It was a tough decision but ultimately we decided it wasn't going to be much of a vacation for anyone if we were stopping to feed, nap and going to bed at 7:00. I left Grandma Jana 17 bottles of breast milk and a long list of instructions and we were off.

It was a very relaxing and fun time. Abby and I got massages and facials, the boys golfed, we all ate good Mexican food and had our fair share of margaritas. We went to the "plaza" each day and shopped around all the little stores. We got Carmel Cone ice cream from Hagen Daz everyday. It doesn't feel like you're still in American over there, all the houses are adobe; it's very cool and earthy.

Step 3 Food...

Since Riggs turned 8 months old today I thought I would try the step 3 baby food, it says for about 8 months. But he did NOT like it. We tried chicken and noodle dinner and it had lots of chunks that he gagged on and eventually threw up. Maybe in a few weeks we'll try again, for now I think we'll stick with step 2.

Riggs also got a new swing today. Its hanging from the tree in our backyard. He really enjoys being outside and looking at trees and loves his new swing. Thanks Daddy and Pop for hanging it.

Big Rig...

Ok, so now I'm gonna talk a little bit about my "bitty baby", that's what I call him but he's not so bitty any more. As a matter of fact he'll be 8 months old tomorrow.
Riggs Isaac was born on 10-10-08, at 5:58pm, 8lbs, 3oz, 20in. First two weeks were rough going, breastfeeding was a challenge but he and I finally got the hang of it. My mom came the first week and JJ's mom the second, but literally the day they left, the s*#@ hit the fan and 3 months of colic followed. I think I cried as much as he did. We tried everything, gas drops, holding him on his belly, special bottles, I changed my diet, took him to a chiropractor, nothing helped. Finally, month 4 rolled around and he was a happier baby.

Now he is sitting and rolling over, trying to crawl but not quite yet. He just started clapping and shaking his head. He loves his little pool and bath time. Bananas are his favorite and we love to hear his giggle and gurgling sounds.

About Me...

I'm 27 and a stay-at-home mom, the job I've always wanted. I taught kindergarten for 4 years and 9weeks. I've never cried or stressed as much over teaching as I have over being a mom. My whole life I've always wanted to be a wife and mother. I love being both but I'm not gonna lie, its VERY hard. My sin is magnified as I see my selfishness, self pity, and discontentment. I am a very controlling, scheduled, routine person and having a baby has rocked my world; he does not follow my plans. God is teaching me to let Him have control. I truly am so, so blessed.

I also work very part time as an administrative assistant in our church's office. I really enjoy the organization and planning that I get to do there. It is a very flexible job where I can work from home or take the baby with me.

I am the oldest of 3 girls and had the best childhood. I LOVE my sisters and parents!! We still have so much fun together. I have also been blessed to have married into a wonderful family. My in-laws are the greatest!

My husband is my best friend. We have been married 4 years. We just became parents 8 months ago tomorrow. It has really changed our marriage but I think we've grown closer together.

People Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout My Best Friend...

My husband (JJ) and I have know each other forever, well at least since 5th grade. We dated for 9 years, broke up to seek God's will, and He brought us back together after 10 months of being apart. We were engaged for 19 days; don't let anyone tell you it takes a year to plan a wedding. It has been the best 4 years of my life :) He is my BEST friend!

First Blog...

This is my first blog. I have been interested in blogging but didn't think anyone would care about what I have to say. My sister got me started after I read her blog. It's just fun to read about people you care about so this is mostly for my friends and family to keep caught up with our lives. Enjoy :)
